ON SHARING AS A CONSCIOUS ACT OF LOVING

In daily practices, we share time together, so that we may know each other deeper; so that we may practice more enriched care with each other, so we may experience a relational existence together.

This is an existence grounded not by I, you, or it, but by the inter- and intra- actions within and between our beings, on a mycelial level. It is a dismantling of identity and entity as singular, bounded and the expansion of it as permeable. These relational experiences happen, whether we acknowledge them or not.

When we choose to become present in the relating, intentional with it, the sharing becomes a conscious act of loving. I think about Donna Haraway’s words about “life’s most fundamental practices of critters becoming with each other at every node of intra-action in Earth history”. This is a practice in sharing. This is a practice in loving. This is a practice in becoming together.

See On Sharing: A Field Guide - at the bottom of this page, to delve deeper into the relationships built through the sharing practiced in this work.
